Welcome to Intree, the online social media platform that prioritizes privacy and puts you in control of your data.

As a core value, Intree respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your information.

This Privacy Policy aims to provide clear and comprehensive information about how we collect, use, protect, and disclose data when you use the Intree website (the "Site") and our mobile application (the "App"), along with other services we offer (collectively the "Services").

We understand the importance of giving you choices about the collection and use of your information, including the option to opt out of certain uses of your Personal Information (as defined below).

We only collect and use your personal information when We have a legitimate reason for doing so.

In which instance, We only collect personal information that is reasonably necessary to provide Our services to you.

User-Generated Content

We consider “user-generated content” to be materials (text, image and/or video content) voluntarily supplied to Us by Our users for the purpose of publication on Our platform, website or re-publishing on Our social media channels. All user-generated content is associated with the account or email address used to submit the materials.

Please be aware that any content you submit for the purpose of publication will be public after posting (and subsequent review or vetting process). Once published, it may be accessible to third parties not covered under this privacy policy.

Security of Your Personal Information

When We collect and process personal information, and while We retain this information, We will protect it within commercially acceptable means to prevent loss and theft, as well as unauthorised  access, disclosure, copying, use, or modification.Although We will do our best to protect the personal information you provide to Us, We advise that no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure, and no one can guarantee absolute data security.

You are responsible for selecting any password and its overall security strength, ensuring the security of your own information within the bounds of Our services. For example, ensuring any passwords associated with accessing your personal information and accounts are secure and confidential.

How Long We Keep Your Personal Information

We keep your information as long as your account is active in our system. However, if we no longer require your personal information for this purpose, we will either delete it or make it anonymous by removing all the details that can identify you.

However, if necessary, We may retain your personal information for our compliance with a legal, accounting, or reporting obligation or for archiving purposes in the public interest, scientific, or historical research purposes or statistical purposes.

Log Data

When you access Our servers via Our app, We automatically log the standard data provided by your device. This information contains of:

Device type
To know which kinds of push notifications We should send, We have to determine whether you are using an Apple or Android device.

Device id
To ensure your security, We will collect and check this specifier every time you login. 

Operating system name & version
We store your device’s operating system name & version, We will use the data to provide support when you submit a ticket, only then, will the data be accessible for Us.

Time and date
To ensure that our app displays the correct time zone, this information is collected.

All of the automatically logged data above, is linked to your account, which means, if you delete your account the data will be deleted as well.

Additionally, when you encounter certain errors while using Our app, We automatically collect data about the error and the circumstances surrounding its occurrence.

This data may include technical details about your device, what you were trying to do when the error happened, and other technical information relating to the problem. You may or may not receive notice of such errors, even in the moment they occur, that they have occurred, or what the nature of the error is.

Please be aware that while this information may not be personally identifying by itself, it may be possible to combine it with other types of data to personally identify you.

Device permissions

Our app may access and collect data via your device's in-built tools, such as:

Camera
We keep your information as long as your account is active in our system. However, if we no longer require your personal information for this purpose, we will either delete it or make it anonymous by removing all the details that can identify you

Microphone
This enables the feature of creating voice messages, calls and capturing video with sound.

Contacts
In order to streamline the process of inviting your contacts, we ask for permission to access them. Please be assured that we will never use or share your contacts without your consent. The sole purpose of importing your contacts is to expedite the invite process by pre-populating phone numbers.

Storage, photos and/or media

When you use our app to send and receive media such as photos, videos, or audio recordings, the app needs access to your device's storage in order to save and transmit the media files. Without access to your device's storage, our app would not be able to function properly and you would not be able to send or receive media through the app.

We understand that privacy is important to our users, and we want to assure you that we take measures to protect your personal information and media files. We do not share your media files with any third parties, and we only collect the minimum amount of information necessary to provide the service you have requested.

Please note that you have the ability to control the app's access to your device's storage through your device settings, and you can revoke this access at any time

Notifications

Keeps you updated about important news within your network such as: new messages, invites, or introductions. All notifications you receive comes directly from your relations, not Intree. You can manage your notification preferences in the App or revoke your permission at any time.

When you install Our app or use your device’s tools within the app, We request permission to access this information. The specific data We collect can depend on the individual settings of your device and the permissions you grant when you install and use Our app.

Children’s Privacy

We do not aim any of Our products or services directly at children under the age of 16, and We do not knowingly collect personal information about children under 16.

Disclosure of Personal Information to Third Parties

We may disclose personal information to:

- A parent, subsidiary, or affiliate of Our company

- Third-party service providers for the purpose of enabling them to provide their services, including (without limitation) IT service providers, data storage, hosting and server providers, error loggers, debt collectors, maintenance or problem-solving providers, professional advisors, and payment systems operators

AWS Cloud is a cloud computing platform that provides a wide range of services, including storage, compute power, and database management. We use AWS to host our application and store user data. Stripe Payments: Stripe is a payment processing platform that enables us to securely process payments made by our users. Your Rights and Controlling Your Personal Information

You do not have to provide personal information to Us, however, if you do not, it may affect your use of Our app or the products and/or services offered on or through it.

We will take reasonable steps to correct any information found to be inaccurate, incomplete, misleading, or out of date.You are able to correct any data about yourself in Our App, go to Settings → Account.

Non-discrimination: We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of your rights over your personal information. Unless your personal information is required to provide you with a particular service or offer (for example serving particular content to your device), We will not deny you goods or services and/or charge you different prices or rates for goods or services, including through granting discounts or other benefits, or imposing penalties, or provide you with a different level or quality of goods and services.

Notification of data breaches: If a data breach occurs, we will adhere to relevant laws and regulations. In the event of a significant cyber security attack where we are unable to provide notification within the app, information about the incident will be available at WWW.INTREE.COM. You can monitor the status of any service related to Intree at www.intree.com/status.

Complaints: If you believe that We have breached a relevant data protection law and wish to make a complaint, please contact Us using the details below and provide us with full details of the alleged breach. We will promptly investigate your complaint and respond to you, in writing, setting out the outcome of our investigation and the steps We will take to deal with your complaint. You also have the right to contact a regulatory body or data protection authority in relation to your complaint. As a company based in Denmark, we answer to Our supervisory authority, Datatilsynet.

Unsubscribe: To unsubscribe from Our email database or opt-out of communications (including marketing communications), please contact Us using the details provided in this privacy policy, or opt-out using the opt-out facilities provided in the communication. We may need to request specific information from you to help Us confirm your identity.Restrict: You have the right to request that We restrict the processing of your personal information if (i) you are concerned about the accuracy of your personal information; (ii) you believe your personal information has been unlawfully processed; (iii) you need us to maintain the personal information solely for the purpose of a legal claim; or (iv) we are in the process of considering your objection in relation to processing on the basis of legitimate interests.

Where possible, We will provide this information in CSV format or other easily readable machine format. Deletion: You may have a right to request that We delete the personal information We hold about you at any time, and We will take reasonable steps to delete your personal information from Our current records. If you ask Us to delete your personal information, We will let you know how the deletion affects your use of Our app, website or products and services. There may be exceptions to this right for specific legal reasons which, if applicable, We will set out for you in response to your request. If you delete your account, your data will be instantly deleted. If you ask Us to terminate or delete your data, We will delete your personal information within 30 days of your request. Treets made by you, that have already been claimed, will be in Our system until they have been redeemed.
If you wish to delete claimed Treets also, please contact Us using the details at the end of this privacy policy.

Please be aware that search engines and similar third parties may still retain copies of your personal information that has been made public at least once, like certain profile information and public comments, even after you have deleted the information from Our services or deactivated your account.

Use of Cookies

Our privacy policy covers the use of cookies between your device and Our servers.
